A life shaped by practice

Most teachers can tell you the day they found yoga. I can’t — because for me there was never a day without it. Yoga has been part of my life for as long as I can remember: rising before dawn, practising daily, and slowly making the discipline my own. More than 25 years on, it is still the first thing I do each morning.

Along the way I had the chance to represent yoga on many stages and in competitions — experiences that taught me something no textbook could: how to demonstrate a practice clearly, and how differently every single body moves.

Study, and the science behind the practice

Wanting to understand yoga as deeply as I live it, I completed a Master’s degree in Yoga — studying the texts, the philosophy, and the anatomy behind the practices I had grown up with. That study is what lets me teach traditionally and safely at the same time: to know not just what a posture is, but why it works and who it suits.

Yoga is an invaluable heritage of Indian culture — the science of the art of living. My work is to pass it on the way it was given to me: personally, patiently, and honestly.

Eight years of guiding — and what it taught me

More than eight years ago I began guiding others, and my students — across India, Canada, the USA, Brazil, England, Australia, Zambia, and Iran — have taught me something in return: the practice only works when it fits the person. A stiff back after ten hours at a desk needs different guidance than an anxious mind at midnight. A beginner of fifty-five needs a different path than an athlete of thirty.

Those years have brought a wide range of students to my mat: children facing physical and mental challenges, adults working through slip-disc recovery alongside their doctors, and many, many people managing weight, stress, or a routine that had simply collapsed. Guided gently — with the traditional approach of understanding the body’s level, the daily routine, and the life around the practice — students describe meaningful progress year after year, even working entirely online. I say this carefully: yoga is not medicine, and I never work against a doctor’s advice. But I have seen, again and again, what steady, personal, honest practice can support.

That is why TradiYog has no crowded classes and no anonymous video libraries. Whether you practise privately or in a deliberately small group, you learn with one consistent teacher who knows your name, your body, and your progress — and every relationship begins the same way: by listening.

How I work with students

Our first conversation is free and unhurried — twenty to thirty minutes about your body, your routine, and what you actually want to change. From that, I build your starting practice: asana suited to your body as it is today, pranayama for your mind as it actually runs, and small, realistic adjustments to your daily routine.

Then we practise together, live, one-to-one. I watch, correct gently, and adapt. When your life shifts — travel, a new job, a difficult month — your practice shifts with it. That is what a teacher is for.

What I believe

  • Tradition without dogma. The old practices work. They don’t need mysticism as marketing — they need to be explained plainly and practised sincerely.
  • Honesty over hype. I will never promise to cure a condition or transform you in thirty days. I promise steady, personal guidance — and I’ll tell you honestly if I’m not the right fit.
  • The student sets the pace. Yoga is not a competition, and your body is not a project deadline. We move at the speed your body and your life allow.
  • Practice over performance. What matters is not how a posture looks. It is what ten quiet minutes a day, sustained for years, does to a life.

TradiYog today — a circle of teachers

What began as one mat has quietly grown into a small school. Alongside me, TradiYog now has a team of teachers — trained in the same tradition and the same personal, unhurried way of teaching, including experienced female teachers.

This matters for a simple reason: comfort is part of good practice. Some students learn best with me; some prefer a different energy; and some — especially many women — feel more at ease practising with a female teacher. All of these are natural, and all of them are provided for. In your introductory session, we listen first — your body, your routine, your comfort — and then suggest the teacher who suits you best. Whoever you practise with, the standard is the same: traditional practice, plainly taught, adapted to you, under my personal guidance.

Practice, every single day

My own day still begins the way it always has: before sunrise, with practice. I mention this not as decoration but because it is the foundation of everything I teach: I only pass on what I live. When we work together, you are not buying a service from a company. You are being guided, personally, by someone for whom this has been daily life for over two decades.
